Chelsea & Arsenal handed boost in Kudus pursuit
Chelsea and Arsenal have been handed a boost in the pursuit of Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus this summer.
Brighton & Hove Albion recently agreed a deal worth €40m for the player, but they failed to agree personal terms.
They were given a window of 48 hours to convince the Ghanaian, but were unable to meet his contract requirements.
As a result, Ajax have backed off from the verbal agreement and the door is open for other clubs to land his services.
However, the 23-year-old won't be available at the same price. Ajax will increase his valuation every single day.
With time running out to find a suitable replacement, the Eredivisie outfit are likely to demand a much higher sum.
They used a similar strategy with Antony last summer. He was eventually sold to Manchester United for €100m.
Kudus won't be that expensive for his suitors, but Ajax could easily demand close to €55-60m in the coming weeks.
Aside from Arsenal and Chelsea , Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the attacker.
