Man Utd centre-back wanted by French club
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is reportedly attracting interest from Rennes, according to RMC Sport.
The Sweden international is no longer a guaranteed starter for the Red Devils.
Raphael Varane and
Lisandro Martinez are the undisputed choices for manager Erik ten Hag.
It is now reported that Rennes are plotting a move for the former Benfica man. They are prepared to make a formal approach if they lose Arthur Theate in the coming days.
However, it is unclear whether they will succeed in their pursuit, considering manager Erik ten Hag has no plans of parting ways with the experienced defender this summer.
Lindelof is the immediate back-up option in case Varane or Martinez pick up an injury. The Dutchman would rather prefer to offload Harry Maguire to pursue a quality replacement.
Maguire was recently touted to join West Ham United. The Red Devils agreed a transfer fee for him, but a deal did not materialise after he refused to finalise personal terms.
