Man Utd to re-sign David de Gea this winter?
Manchester United could re-sign David de Gea on a short-term contract at the beginning of the New Year, according to The Sun.
The Spaniard served the Red Devils for 12 seasons and left them on a free transfer last summer after the expiry of his contract.
De Gea has been a free-agent ever since. He has been linked with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but nothing has materialised.
It is now revealed that United are contemplating the option of re-signing him on a short-term deal to make up for Andre Onana 's absence.
Onana could be absent for several weeks in January and February due to his participation with Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations.
United signed Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce to provide back-up, but Erik ten Hag may not want to put him in the firing line this winter.
This could be a reason behind the interest in re-signing De Gea, but it is unclear whether the legendary goalkeeper will consider the offer.
