Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Newcastle, Varane starts
Manchester United welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford for the Carabao Cup fourth round tie tonight.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss in the Manchester derby at the weekend and they will be aiming to return to winning ways.
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has played every minute of the campaign for United in goal and he was brilliant at the weekend, making seven saves. He could finally get a breather with Altay Bayindir making his United debut.
The backline could witness two changes from the derby loss. Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon should make the XI after being dropped at the weekend due to tactical reasons.
Similarly, there should be a change in the centre of the park. Sofyan Amrabat should continue in the defensive midfield role with Casemiro still on the sidelines with an ankle issue.
However, Scott McTominay could make way after an underwhelming display in the derby. He came close to scoring on two occasions, but offered nothing in the defensive side of things.
Mason Mount should replace him in the number eight role. Further ahead, Bruno Fernandes should be an undisputed starter from the number 10 position for United being the captain.
Christian Eriksen is likely to drop to the bench alongside Marcus Rashford , who could be given a breather amid his inconsistent form. We fancy Antony and Alejandro Garnacho to start on the wings.
Rasmus Hojlund could start in the number nine role ahead of Anthony Martial due to the importance of the fixture. United would not want an early exit from a competition where they are the holders.
Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): Bayindir; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Reguilon; Amrabat, Mount; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.
