Erik ten Hag confirms Man Utd star got injured vs Newcastle
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Casemiro was substituted against Newcastle United last night following a fresh injury.
The Brazilian missed the first three games after the international break with an ankle issue but he was deemed fit to face the Magpies in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Casemiro was unconvincing with his opening half display and he was taken off at the interval. It was initially deemed tactical but Ten Hag has now revealed the reason.
The manager said that the midfielder picked up a fresh injury right before the half-time interval and he had no choice but to replace him with Sofyan Amrabat in the XI.
The news is a huge blow for the club, considering they have a tough game against Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
United are currently on a dreadful run with eight losses in 15 games this term. They face another huge test in west London amid their current run of form.
