Arsenal make contract offer to key defender
Arsenal have made a contract offer to Takehiro Tomiyasu amid his impressive performances over the course of the campaign.
The Japan international has been a regular starter for the Gunners in recent weeks and he has registered three assists in his last two appearances.
It is now reported that the club have already made a fresh contract proposal and they are expected an agreement in due course.
Tomiyasu was on the radar of Bayern Munich last summer, but manager Mikel Arteta ruled out the prospect of him leaving.
The German champions remain interested in signing the former Bologna man, but the Gunners are in a strong position to keep him.
Tomiyasu's current deal expires in June 2025 with an option for 12 months.
He is expected to put pen-to-paper on a new contract which could include a significant increase on his current wages at the club.
Aside from Tomiyasu, the club are also in talks with Ben White over a new deal. The Englishman is likely to extend his stay too.
