Arsenal linked with shock move for Senegalese striker
Arsenal have been linked with a shock move for Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia during the January transfer window.
The Gunners have had another good Premier League campaign, but they are still lacking the cutting edge in the striking department.
Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have netted only six goals apiece and there are claims that Arsenal could spend on a new striker.
It is reported today that Dia has emerged as an option for the north London club and they could trigger the €21 million release clause in his contract.
Dia netted 16 goals in the Serie A last season for Salernitana last term, but he has just four during the first half of this campaign.
Injuries have stunted his progress with the Italian outfit, who are currently bottom of the table with just eight points thus far.
Salernitana will be helpless to stop him from leaving due to the clause, but it would be a huge surprise if Arsenal recruit him.
Arsenal should instead focus on Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy , who has 18 goals in 14 games. He has a release clause of just €17.5m.
