Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the former Fulham winger, who, since arriving at Anfield in a deal worth £7 million in 2022 has failed to reach the lofty heights expected of him. Two previous years at Fulham saw Carvalho shine and a return of 11 goals in 40 domestic league games caught the eye.

A stint with RB Leipzig did not see the 21-year-old live up to expectations, and after just nine appearances a return to Anfield was inevitable.

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior identified Carvalho as his top transfer target for the January transfer window , and with the club sitting 7th in the Championship and pushing for a play-off place, the MKM Stadium club hope Carvalho will add the depth to push for a promotion spot.
