Chelsea ready to sell defender to make new signing
Chelsea are ready to part ways with Trevoh Chalobah to purchase a new central defender before the transfer deadline.
The Blues graduate was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest last summer. They agreed to sell him for £30 million, but Chalobah was not keen on joining the club.
Chalobah has been injured throughout this period, but he continues to be linked with an exit. Fabrizio Romano claims that the Blues are actively looking to offload him.
If Chalobah were to head for the exit door, it is reported that the London giants could pursue a new central defender. The Blues don't have any stand-out targets at the moment.
They are prepared to play the waiting game as things stand but could make a late purchase or two depending on the funds gained.
The club are currently in a tight FFP situation and can't afford to make new signings without recouping funds from player departures.
