Arsenal midfielder turns down move to Turkish club
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has reportedly turned down the opportunity to join Trabzonspor during the current transfer window.
The Italy international has been a squad player for the Gunners this term. He is currently behind
Declan Rice in the pecking order for the number six role.
With Thomas Partey set to return from injury soon, Jorginho could fall further down the pecking order. This could pave the way for his mid-season exit.
According to Sports Digitale, Trabzonspor recently made contact with the player through his representative, but the midfielder rejected the offer.
Besiktas are also keen admirers of the former Chelsea man and it remains to be seen whether they will make a proposal of their own to the player.
Jorginho's agent Joao Santos previously said that the midfielder will stay at Arsenal until the end of the campaign before deciding his future.
However, we won't be surprised if he is allowed to move on this winter, considering Arsenal also have Mohamed Elneny for the position.
