I'm hurting: Axel Disasi on Chelsea's draw at Man City
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has said that he is disappointed after the Blues could not secure a win against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The Blues were huge underdogs for the recent trip to the Etihad Stadium, but they exceeded expectations with a superb all-round performance.
The Blues opened the scoring through Raheem Sterling in the first half, but they had two or three more clear-cut chances to find the net.
In the second half, the Cityzens were the better side in attack. Erling Haaland missed two key chances but Rodri found a late equaliser.
Speaking after the game, Disasi admitted that he is hurting after Pep Guardiola 's side managed to secure a point out of the game.
He said: "I’m hurting. But at the same time, I’m proud of the performance of the team. We played very, very well all together. We showed we can struggle together, stick together, and fight for each other."
Disasi was tremendous against the Cityzens with 16 clearances. He won 100 per cent of his aerial duels and had the best game of his Chelsea career. He will be aiming to replicate the same in the Carabao Cup final.
