The Blues delivered a spirited performance against the reigning English champions and looked good value for their lead until Rodri's late equaliser for the home side.

They could have easily won the game with the clear-cut chances created on the day and speaking after the draw, Gallagher said that the team are slightly disappointed.

The Englishman added that his side had a lot of chances to secure the victory, but are pleased to come up with a point from the Etihad.

He said: "We are slightly disappointed because we were winning the game. They were, in terms of possession, dominating the game."

"I feel we had a lot of chances to win the game. We are disappointed to concede late but pleased with the point."

Despite the stalemate, Chelsea remain 10th in the standings, but they are only two points behind seventh-placed Newcastle United.
