Chelsea manager eyeing European football via FA Cup
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about the prospect of qualifying for Europe through the FA Cup.
The Blues have had a disastrous league campaign and they are currently 11th in the standings with only 39 points on the board.
Hence, they are in a difficult position to qualify for Europe and their chances could largely depend on winning the FA Cup.
The Blues missed out on doing so by lifting the Carabao Cup last month, but Pochettino is aiming to do so through the FA Cup.
He said: "For us, to reach another semi-final is so good for us. To reach Europe through the FA Cup would be massive."
The winner of the competition is guaranteed a place in next season's Europa League which would be a huge boost for Chelsea .
The Blues are facing the need to balance their books this summer, but some of the burden could be eased by extra financial gain.
Chelsea currently need to recoup £100m from player sales in the next transfer window to avoid potential FFP sanctions.
