Bayern star open to joining Arsenal this summer
Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has opened the door to joining Arsenal during the summer transfer window, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Germany international has been with the Bavarian club since 2014, but he is now open to exploring a new challenge away from them.
Contract talks have stalled with the Bundesliga holders and Bayern are expected to sell him with his current deal expiring in June 2025.
Plettenberg claims that Kimmich has the desire to join five European clubs and Mikel Arteta 's side are one of his most suitable destinations.
The journalist reveals that some of the interested teams have already spoken with the midfielder over a potential move during the summer.
Arsenal are likely to sign a defensive midfielder in the next transfer window with the prospect of Thomas Partey and Jorginho leaving.
Kimmich would be an outstanding acquisition for the London giants, but they may not want to overpay for his services this summer.
A deal worth €40m would suit the Gunners. Kimmich may need to accept a pay-cut on his current €375,000-a-week salary to make the move.
