Arsenal end interest in Ivan Toney, focusing on 25yo
Arsenal have ended their interest in signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners were heavily linked with the England international last winter and there were suggestions that they could spend big on him.
However, no proposal was made to the Bees and football.london claim that the 28-year-old is no longer on the club's transfer radar.
Mikel Arteta 's side are eyeing a young striker with experience and Toney does not suit the requirements of the north London giants.
Instead, they are currently focusing on a deal for Viktor Gyokeres , who has been in outstanding form for Sporting Lisbon this term.
The 25-year-old joined the Portuguese outfit from Coventry City last summer, and he has been exceptional in his debut year.
The striker has registered 36 goals and 14 assists from just 39 outings and he could be set for another big club move this summer.
He currently has a release clause worth €100m in his deal, but Sporting could be willing to accept a slightly lesser fee.
