Erik ten Hag very proud after Man Utd's draw vs Liverpool
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that he is very proud following the 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were second best against the Reds during the opening half and they conceded 15 shots without having one of their own.
Despite this, the visitors managed just one goal to their name and United capitalised on this with an improved second half performance.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw, Ten Hag said that he has very mixed emotions. While the Dutchman was disappointed to drop points, he added that he is very proud that the team are improving.
He said: "Very mixed emotions. On one side I am disappointed that we have dropped seven points in one week after being in winning positions."
"On the other side I am very proud. You see how we are improving and the potential of this squad is amazing - I am proud."
United have squandered the opportunity to close the gap on the top four and now face an uphill task to qualify for the Champions League.
Fifth position could also be enough with the new format, but United are currently 11 points adrift of the Villans with one game in hand.
