Arsenal preparing an offer to sign 36-goal star?
Arsenal are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the season.
The Swede has been in exemplary form for the Portuguese giants since his move from Coventry City last summer. He has amassed 36 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.
His form has convinced the Gunners into moving for him and Pedro Sepulveda claims that the club will soon make a formal approach for his services to Sporting.
The 25-year-old currently has a release clause worth €100m in his contract, but the Gunners are expected to negotiate a lesser value with the remaining adjusted in add-ons.
Chelsea are also contenders to land the Sweden star, but Arsenal have the upper hand due to Champions League football and no concerns over their financial position.
The Blues will need to balance their financial books this summer before they can invest. Hence, Arsenal look to be in a fairly good position to prise away Gyokeres from Lisbon.
