Man Utd suffer huge blow as Fulham sign 26yo target
Manchester United have suffered a huge setback with Fulham winning the race to sign Burnley star Sander Berge.
The Red Devils are eyeing a new defensive midfielder this month and they were recently in discussions with the Clarets.
Berge had been earmarked as an alternative, suppose they can't afford to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
That option is no longer available. Fulham have agreed to sign Berge for £20 million plus £5m in the form of add-ons.
The 26-year-old has also agreed personal terms with the Cottagers and he is expected to undergo his medical tomorrow.
With this decision, Marco Silva 's side have also ended the pursuit of Scott McTominay , who is available for sale at United.
The Red Devils were hoping to offload McTominay to recoup funds for Ugarte and the process has now slowed down.
McTominay is on the radar of Serie A giants Napoli, but they can only afford him if Victor Osimhen leaves for big money.
