Napoli were holding out for his €130m release clause earlier in the window, but they are now prepared to sanction his sale for around €100m.

Corriere dello Sport now claim that Arsenal are back on the trail for the 25-year-old and could make a late swoop before the deadline on August 30.

The Gunners have had a quiet summer transfer window , but they are aiming to end it on a high with the purchase of a marquee centre-forward.

Chelsea are also admirers of the former Lille man, but they can only afford a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Osimhen has no desire to accept such a proposal. He has also refused to accept a pay-cut to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
