The transfer money will be a welcome windfall for Liverpool boss Arne Slot , who is not finished on the transfer market himself just yet. The reported fee that Liverpool will receive is £20 million up front and a further £5 million over three years, both transfer bids have been accepted.

The Zwolle-born defender had hoped to kickstart his Liverpool career under fellow countryman Slot, but the manager has instead decided to show the centre-back the door. Comfortable operating at right-back as well as the central defence role, he is an extremely versatile player that will be a welcome addition to any squad.
