Cole Palmer withdraws from England duty with injury
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has withdrawn from England duty due to a minor hamstring problem.
The 22-year-old has had a brilliant start to the season with the Blues. He has registered one goal and four assists from three league games.
He is essential to the Blues' chances of making the top four, but it is unclear whether he will be fit following the international break.
Palmer did not train with the Three Lions earlier this week and he will now return to Cobham to assess the nature of his current injury.
Chelsea will be hoping that he can recover in time for the restart.
The Blues are currently on four points for the campaign and they will be aiming to build momentum with a winning streak this month.
Palmer has been brilliant with his playmaking ability and his presence in the starting XI increases their chances of winning games.
Alongside him, Malo Gusto is racing against time to be fit. The Frenchman sustained a muscle injury against Crystal Palace last weekend.
