Chelsea star nominated for Ballon d'Or award
Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer has been nominated for the Ballon d'Or award following his brilliant debut campaign.
The England international joined the Blues from Manchester City last term and he was exceptional with 27 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.
The Blues finished only sixth in the Premier League, but Palmer has been nominated for the Ballon d'Or for his 42 goal contributions.
Palmer was recently rewarded with a new contract by the Blues and he will be key to the club's chances of making the top four this term.
He has started the season in fine fashion with one goal and four assists and will be aiming to continue the good run after the break.
The 22-year-old recently pulled out of England duty with a minor hamstring issue, but he is expected to be fit for the restart next week.
Chelsea are presently 11th in the league standings. They have picked up four points from their opening three top-flight games.
