Liverpool ready to open contract talks with winger
Liverpool are prepared to open contract talks with Luis Diaz amid his exemplary form in the Premier League season.
The Colombia international was linked with a move to Barcelona this summer but the Reds had no plans of parting ways with him.
Diaz has been a regular starter since the new campaign and he has been superb with five goals and one assist so far.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is clearly happy with the commitment and he has urged the hierarchy to discuss a new deal.
Diaz has less than three years remaining on his contract. He is currently one of the lowest earners at just £55,000 per week.
The Merseyside giants could bring him to the £100,000 per week bracket with a contract extension in the coming months.
Diaz is said to be an admirer of Barcelona, but he is very happy at Liverpool and has no plans of pushing for an exit.
Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League standings with 12 points on the road, one behind Manchester City.
