The England international was one of the best young wingers during his time at Chelsea , but his performances were inconsistent after an Achilles injury.

Hudson-Odoi was in-and-out of the starting line-up thereafter and he made the decision to join Forest at the start of last season.

The 23-year-old has now revealed that it was the right time to move on as he wanted to enjoy his football with regular minutes.

He said: "You have to recognise when it is the right time to move on. And that was my time.

"A case of I needed to get out of there. Not in a bad way but to go and find my football again and enjoy myself again."

Hudson-Odoi has netted just one goal this season. It came in the surprise 1-0 Premier League win over Liverpool at Anfield.
