Arsenal midfielder withdraws from upcoming internationals
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has withdrawn from international duty after suffering an illness, according to Charles Watts.
The Ghana international has been a key player for the Gunners from the start of the season and he has delivered some stand-out displays.
He has not produced the vintage performances of the past, but the midfielder has been consistent with his displays on the playing field.
Partey has now withdrawn from international duty with Ghana due to illness rather than an injury. He should be fit for the restart.
The former Atletico Madrid man has entered the last year of his contract with the club and talks are not planned over an extension.
Mikel Arteta was quiet when asked about the same, but Partey has the chance to prove his worth with consistent performances.
He needs to stay fit for the remainder of the campaign to convince the hierarchy to reward him with a renewal for next season.
