Arne Slot drops huge injury update on Ibrahima Konate
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided a big injury update on Ibrahima Konate following the 2-1 comeback win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The Reds had a difficult opening half against the Seagulls at Anfield and they could have easily conceded more than one goal. The visitors failed to capitalise on scoring chances and they eventually paid the price.
Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scored after the interval to ensure that the Reds returned to the top of the league table ahead of Manchester City.
Konate partnered Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the defence, but he was replaced at the interval after suffering a painful shoulder injury.
Speaking after the win, Slot said that the Frenchman had a lot of pain and he will need to be assessed over the next 24 hours or so.
He said: "We don't know yet. He had a lot of pain, but he hasn't been to the hospital yet - and maybe it is not even necessary to go to the hospital, I don't know."
Liverpool are currently top of the table with 25 points from the opening 10 games of the season. They look genuine title contenders at the moment.
