Arsenal reach verbal agreement to sell USA star
Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Nottingham Forest to sell goalkeeper Matt Turner, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Turner joined the Gunners from New England Revolution last summer, and he played second fiddle to
Aaron Ramsdale throughout last season.
He has now agreed personal terms to join Forest, and Romano reports that the Gunners have also accepted a verbal transfer package for him.
The north London giants are currently waiting to finalise the transfer of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford to sanction his departure.
Raya has accepted contract terms with the Gunners, and the club are currently close to finalising a fee with the Bees for his services.
The Spaniard is likely to start as the back-up goalkeeper behind Aaron Ramsdale next term, but he could replace him in the long run.
On the other hand, Turner looks set to be the number one for Forest. He could make his debut against Arsenal in the curtain-raiser on August 12.
