Fulham to sign Man Utd defender on a free transfer?
Fulham have approached to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly on a free transfer agreement.
The Ivory Coast international spent the previous campaign on loan with Marseille in the French top-flight.
He made 23 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, but they decided against triggering the option to purchase him.
Bailly is now deemed surplus to requirements at United, and RMC Sport claim that Fulham are interested in him.
The 29-year-old has already turned down offers from Besiktas and some Saudi clubs over the past couple of weeks.
He could be tempted to continue in the Premier League with Fulham , though he may need to accept a pay-cut.
Bailly is currently on a weekly package of £80,000-a-week. He has only 10 months remaining on his current deal.
United have the option to extend for another 12 months, but the board have no intention of triggering the clause.
The club are open to mutually terminating his contract. If not, they could release him for free when the season ends.
