Man Utd set to miss out on top target to Serie A club
Manchester United are set to miss out on Benjamin Pavard to Inter Milan, according to Sky Sport Italy.
The Red Devils were keen on signing the France international from Bayern Munich earlier this month, but their move stalled after Harry Maguire refused to leave the club.
The hierarchy had agreed to sell their former captain to West Ham United for £30 million, but the centre-back refused to accept terms with the east London outfit.
As a result, United pulled out of the pursuit and Pavard is now on the verge of joining Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri have agreed a package of around £27m to sign him.
Pavard has also finalised personal terms with the San Siro giants, and he is prepared to join them instead of United. The news is a big blow for manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag was determined to sign the World Cup winner, who can play in central defence or at right-back. He personally spoke to convince him, but United messed up things.
