Wolves to sign Habib Diarra in deadline day swoop
A final push to sign Habib Diarra will be completed today, as Wolves have agreed a 19 million euro package to enable the 19-year-old to make a transfer to England from Strasbourgh. With the depature of Matheus Nunes to Man City in a £47 million
Having represented France's youth teams from under-16 to under-19 level, Diarra is already very highly rated in his homeland, and for some pundits, suggested as a future full international for France.
Lens and Juventus were both linked with a move, but it is Wolverhampton Wanderers that have sealed a deal at the last minute.
Diarra is a versatile youngster who can play in defensive or attacking midfield, but his preferred position is as an anchorman. He has seen his value shoot up in recent months after an impressive season last year.
Wolves will hope to get the deal over the line as quickly as possible, but a player has not yet been booked for Diarra, so this transfer could be finalised only at the very end of the transfer deadline day.
