Mauricio Pochettino updates on injured duo ahead of Blackburn clash
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk will need to be assessed in the coming days.
Fernandez and Mudryk missed the recent Premier League derby against Brentford with muscular injuries. In their absence, the Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
The club will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Carabao Cup fourth round against Blackburn in midweek and Pochettino is optimistic that the duo will be fit.
Speaking after the defeat to the Bees, the Argentine said that there is a chance that the injured pair could feature. Their respective injuries will need to be assessed.
He said: "I think both have a chance. but we need to asses in the next few days."
Chelsea recently found momentum with a four-match unbeaten run, but their performance against the Bees was far from their standard.
They lacked the cutting edge in the final third of the pitch and paid the price in the end with Thomas Frank's side coming on top once more.
