Man Utd break silence on Erik ten Hag sack rumours
Manchester United have insisted that they are not looking to part ways with Erik ten Hag after the poor start to the campaign.
The Red Devils have had a dismal beginning to the season and they have suffered eight losses from the opening 15 matches.
This has included five defeats in their home turf. The club bowed out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 loss to Newcastle yesterday.
Earlier today, there were claims that United are looking at potential candidates to take over the managerial role from the Dutchman.
Sporting's Ruben Amorim was mentioned as a possible target but the story has been dismissed by the Red Devils via Fabrizio Romano .
He said on X: "Manchester United deny any idea or contact to replace Erik ten Hag with new head coach. Club sources guarantee stories on new manager are ‘categorically false’."
Ten Hag is currently facing the pressure and will need to turnaround the club's fortunes in the near future or he could face the sack.
The club will travel to west London to meet Fulham on Saturday before tackling Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage.
Both games are a must-win for United and Ten Hag. Any further slip-up could increase speculation over Ten Hag's position at the helm.
