Arsenal have been linked with a bid of around £63 million to sign the midfielder in January, while Man Utd are ready to trump the Gunners' bid and pay even more to sign the player should he be available.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery wants to keep hold of Luiz, and will do all he can to persuade the player that his future will be in Birmingham. Luiz recently signed a new deal after Arsenal bid £50 million for the player last year.

Luiz said of his future at the club: "My focus is totally here. I don't spend a lot of time looking at the stories. I see them, but I don't focus on that and I'm not looking at it every day. My head is here at Aston Villa ."
