Man Utd defender ready to accept pay-cut to join Real Madrid
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is ready to accept a pay-cut to rejoin Real Madrid during the January transfer window.
The centre-back has endured a tough season with the Red Devils and he was a regular on the bench for the past few months.
Varane has been reinstated into the XI amid the injury crisis but there are questions over his future with the Red Devils.
It is now claimed by Sport that Madrid are exploring a reunion with Varane when the transfer window reopens next month.
The World Cup winner would be willing to reduce his wages for the move. A deal worth €20m could be agreed this winter.
It is left to be seen whether United sanction the transfer, considering they are without three key central defenders for now.
Harry Maguire , Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are nursing injuries but they are anticipated to return some time in January.
Still, there is no guarantee over their return dates and United may prefer to keep Varane until the end of the current campaign.
