Kehrer has flown to France to undergo a medical. It is understood that, despite playing in a total of 38 games for the Irons, manager David Moyes did not want to keep the defender and is seeking an alternative in the January transfer window .

Konstantinos Mavropanos has been impressive since forcing his way into the club's first-team, scoring a goal against his former club Arsenal at the end of December.

Meanwhile Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd are the preferred defensive duo at the club.

It is understood that Monaco will pay around 500k euros for the term of the loan deal, and that Kehrer can move to the Principality outfit at the end of the current campaign for a fee of around £10 million.
