Chelsea falling behind in Victor Osimhen race
Chelsea are falling behind Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in the race to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Teamtalk.
The Blues have been long-term admirers of the Nigerian star and they have already spoken with his representatives.
However, a summer deal looks difficult to pull off at the moment due to their ongoing Financial Fair Play problems.
The Blues need to recoup at least £100m in player sales this summer before they can contemplate about spending again.
Even then, they are not in a position to trigger Osimhen's £112m release clause and can only afford staggered payments.
With the lack of Champions League football, their finances have taken a huge hit and could do so again this summer.
They could get some relief by qualifying for the Europa League, but that is far from guaranteed at the current point of time.
Aside from the clause, the Blues are also likely to be reluctant to meet Osimhen's wage demands of £200,000-a-week.
