London club close to securing deal for Man Utd defender
West Ham United are close to finalising the transfer of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
The Hammers have identified the 26-year-old as the ideal candidate to provide competition to Vladimir Coufal in the right-back role.
They opened negotiations with United in late July and they are now on the verge of reaching an agreement over the payment terms.
United have set an asking price of £18 million for the full-back, but the Hammers are optimistic of signing him for a lesser sum.
Wan-Bissaka picked up a knock during the 3-0 friendly loss to Liverpool last night and it is left to be seen whether this has any impact on the deal.
West Ham United will want a proper medical report on the defender's fitness before reaching a formal agreement for his transfer.
The right-back was initially keen on joining Inter Milan, but he has been convinced by the Hammers with a lucrative contract offer.
