Mikel Arteta hints at starting role for 29yo winger
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted at a potential starting role for Raheem Sterling ahead of the Carabao Cup third round tie versus Bolton Wanderers.
The north London giants have had a hectic schedule since the international break with three games in seven days. They played one half against Manchester City with just ten men.
With this in mind, the manager is bound to make plenty of changes and he has hinted that Sterling could start against the Trotters at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
He said: "He is ready, he is really hungry to add more minutes and impact the team in the way that he can, and hopefully tomorrow we can see that."
The 29-year-old has come off the bench in two of the last three games for Arsenal and he could make his full debut against Bolton at the Emirates.
The Gunners are overwhelming favourites for the game and they should cruise to a comfortable win over the League One club tomorrow.
