As a result, the Red Devils are no longer interested in signing a central defender and have ended the pursuit of Pavard.

The World Cup winner could still move to the Premier League with interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal .

The Gunners in particular could be keen on his services after losing Jurrien Timber to a serious knee injury last weekend.

Timber requires an operation as a result. The Dutchman won't be available to return until the beginning of March at least.
