Arsenal hold positive talks with defender over new deal
Arsenal have held positive talks with defender Ben White over a new long-term contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The England international has been an undisputed starter for the Gunners since making his debut in the 2021/22 season.
He was initially a central defender for them, but since the start of the previous campaign, he has established himself at right-back.
White still has three years remaining on his existing contract, but the club are eager to reward him with an improved salary.
Positive talks have been held with his representatives and it may not be long before he commits his future to the Gunners.
Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League standings with 20 points. They are behind Spurs on goals scored.
They will be back in action against Chelsea on the road on Saturday, and have the chance to climb to the top of the table.
White is expected to start from the right-back role and he could have a busy game in the derby against Mykhailo Mudryk .
