Bayern Munich considered shock loan move for Chelsea winger
Bayern Munich considered a shock loan move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk during the winter transfer window.
The German champions suffered a huge setback last month where they lost the services of Kingsley Coman with a serious knee injury.
This led to suggestions that the club could invest on a stop-gap signing, but they ended up recruiting Granada's Bryan Zaragoza in advance.
Zaragoza was initially expected to join the Bundesliga holders in the summer, but the move was fast-tracked after Coman's injury blow.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Mudryk was also discussed as a solution on loan, but a deal did not materialise in the end.
Chelsea were always reluctant to lose Mudryk on a temporary basis. They are likely to assess his future at the end of the season.
Mudryk has been a big flop since his €70m switch from Shakhtar Donetsk last year and the Blues could cut their losses on him soon.
