Liverpool handed fresh injury blows ahead of Carabao Cup final
Liverpool have been handed a double injury blow ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Merseyside outfit recently registered a 4-1 win over
Brentford on the road. During that game,
Curtis Jones and
Diogo Jota were substituted in the opening half.
Both players have now been ruled out of the Wembley showdown against the Blues. Jota could be sidelined for the next two months after picking up a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is also doubtful for the game with an undefined problem. We should get an idea over his fitness over the next couple of days.
Liverpool are set to face Luton Town in a midweek league encounter at Anfield. It is left to be seen whether Nunez will be involved for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp 's side are currently top of the table with a two-point lead over Arsenal and have an opportunity to extend their slender advantage.
