Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal will sign 28yo star
Arsenal will definitely sign goalkeeper David Raya on a permanent deal from Brentford this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish star joined the Gunners on loan from the Bees and he took over the gloves from Aaron Ramsdale after the September international break.
He had an error-prone start to his Gunners career but over the past few months, Raya has established himself as a key player for the north London giants.
Raya was recently the hero in the club's Champions League win over Porto. He saved two penalties in the shoot-out as the Gunners reached the quarter-final.
Romano has now revealed that Raya will 100 per cent be an Arsenal player next season and there has been a verbal agreement with the Bees since October.
He said: "He will, 100 percent be an Arsenal player next season. I told you already in October and November that Arsenal had a verbal plan with Brentford because they wanted to sign Raya last summer."
Arsenal have the option to sign Raya for £27 million. The fee looks a bargain, considering how the 28-year-old has improved the club with his passing from the back over the last few months.
