Liverpool ramp up interest in Goncalo Inacio

Liverpool have struggled with injuries to defenders such as Andy Robertson in recent months, whilst Liverpool have identified the position alongside Virgil van Dijk as a place the club want to fill for the next few years. In 22-year-old Portuguese star Inacio, Liverpool would sign one of Europe's best central defenders.
Inacio has also appeared five times for Portugal's national team, scoring twice. The defender is seen as a natural partner for Man City defender Ruben Dias in the heart of the national side's defence.
Currently, Liverpool prefer Ibrahima Konte to Joel Matip in central defence, and Joe Gomez can also operate in that same position. However, Jurgen Klopp is desperate to add a new long-term alternative, and Inacio is seen as "the one" for the German who is currently in the progress of building a "Klopp 2.0" side that is pushing for the Premier League title.
