Chelsea refusing to give up on La Liga striker?
Chelsea are refusing to give up on a January deal for Girona striker Artem Dovbyk, according to Calciomercato.
The west London giants have been inconsistent in front of goal this season. This has been a prime reason behind their 10th position in the Premier League.
They need to turnaround their fortunes in the back end of the campaign, and reports claim that the club have a keen interest in signing in-form Girona star Dovbyk.
However, a deal may not be easy to pursue. Girona president Pere Guardiola made it clear yesterday that the club are not planning to lose any of their star players.
Chelsea could persuade them with a big-money transfer offer, but they face another hurdle in convincing the 26-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge this month.
The Ukrainian, who has 11 goals and six assists in La Liga this season, wants to experience the title race with Girona - something which Chelsea can't offer.
