Bayern Munich star given green light to join Man Utd?
Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has been given the green light to join Manchester United at the end of the season.
The Dutchman has been in-and-out of the starting line-up for the German champions this term and he is visibly upset over the same.
Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano are the regular centre-back pairing. De Ligt has played when one of them has been unavailable.
The Netherlands star does not want a similar role going forward and he is expected to push for a new challenge during the summer.
Sky Germany claim that a move to United could be on the cards in the off-season, provided Erik ten Hag remains the club's manager.
Ten Hag is under extreme pressure at United with the club seventh in the league and already eight points adrift of the top four.
If the club don't qualify for the Europa League at least, there is a good possibility that he could be axed from the job in late May.
De Ligt is keen on a reunion with his former manager at Ajax. If Ten Hag were to leave, United may struggle to convince him into a summer switch.
