The Gunners have their sights on landing a new wide player this summer and they have been monitoring Williams for some time.

It is now reported that the north London giants are pressing for his signature and there is a feeling that Williams will leave Athletic.

The 21-year-old recently committed to a new long-term deal at Athletic in order to avoid running down the final year of his contract.

Despite the extension, his release clause remains at only €50 million and this should tempt the Gunners into making a summer move.

Williams has managed 15 goal involvements for Athletic this term. He was able to register a similar tally in the whole of last season.

He has already made progress at the club. His ability to play on the right and left wing would be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta 's side.

The Gunners are most likely to consider Williams as a deputy to Bukayo Saka , considering the lack of quality depth on the right wing.
